The alter ego of Clarence Gaines, Lou Draws blends his love of classic R&B and modern sounds to create music that resonates across generations & cultures. Pulling inspiration from the ’70s – ’90s soul, funk & R&B, Lou curates an undeniable vibe bound to have the listener’s feet tapping, head nodding and pressing repeat.
In 2010, Clarence created the alter ego, Lou Draws with the album ‘Juicealicious: An Old School Love Affair’ a “throwback” album based on the New Jack Swing sound from the late ’80s and early ’90s. Lou’s latest release ‘Vallerina’ is heavily inspired by the Minneapolis sound made popular by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Sheila E., and of course Prince. The EP also serves as the music for his upcoming short film “Vallerina” due late 2021.
